TCC Students Participate in the Capital City Band
The Capital City Band has been an important part of TCC's arts program for more than two decades. This year 15 TCC students have joined community members to participate in the Capital City Band. The Capital City Band regularly performs throughout the year in and around the community. Upcoming winter performances, include: -Saturday, Decemebr 1 at 5:45 p.m. at the City of Tallahassee Winter Festival -Monday, December 3 at 7 p.m. at the Tallahassee Senior Center

Florida College System Activities Association
The Florida College System Activities Association recognized 49 TCC students for their outstanding work in and out of the classroom. These students achieved a minimum of a 3.30 GPA in the 2017-2018 academic year and participated in either extracurricular activities or sports.

The Tallahassee Community College student art and literary magazine, The Eyrie, 2018 edition placed third for "Best Magazine" in the Southern Division of the Community College Humanities Association literary magazine competition.

Troy University announces Provost's List for Spring Semester/Term 4
TROY is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Provost's List for the spring semester and Term 4 of the 2017/2018 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65 qualify for the Provost's List. The spring semester includes students at the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 4 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with locations outside of Alabama and online.

Theatre TCC! production receives superior rating
The Tallahassee Community College theatre program, Theatre TCC!, received a superior rating from the Florida College System Activities Association for its production of "Schoolhouse Rock LIVE." That is the highest rating the FCSAA awards.

Over 100 people were in attendance as Tallahassee Community College unveiled the 37th edition of the Eyrie Art & Literary Magazine and recognized students whose works were selected as the winning submissions in the categories of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, art, and photography.

TCC student Jordan Griffin named Champion of Service
TCC sophomore Jordan Griffin has received a Champion of Service Award from Volunteer Florida. The award honors individuals and groups for their outstanding efforts in volunteerism and service. The award was presented at a ceremony at the Florida Governor's Mansion on March 23. Jordan Griffin was joined at the presentation by his parents, Patricia and Lloyd Griffin. Griffin currently serves as president of the Black Male Achievers Program at TCC. He has also served as a legislative intern for Representative Sharon Pritchett. In the last several years, Griffin has participated in volunteer activities such as mentoring fifth graders with fellow BMA members at John G. Riley Elementary School, volunteering at the John G. Riley Center and Museum, and serving as a TCC peer leader. Griffin has also been an officer in the Florida State Primitive Baptist Youth Convention since 2014. This year, he is the president and oversees the youth ministries of all Primitive Baptist churches in Florida. Griffin is an alum of Lawton Chiles High School in Tallahassee. After graduating from TCC, he plans to attend Morehouse College in Atlanta to pursue a degree in political science. He aspires to be a politician and a civil rights and social justice activist while being the pastor of his own church.
